This course is designed to provide students with an in depth understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and how to successfully support children and youth with ASD in the K-12 school system. This includes academic, behavioural, and environmental challenges which are specific to ASD. This course is a continuation of RECR 150 with a special emphasis on assessing recreation needs, planning, implementing and evaluating programs. It builds upon the foundations of program development established in RECR 150. Students are introduced to needs assessment research methods and develop a research project from start to finish.
